Desert Plants
Even though there is little to no precipitation in the desert some plant life is still found. But, due to the low precipitation little plant life is able to grow so there aren't many flowers or beautiful plants. The saguaro cactus a common plants in the desert. It stores the water in the limb at the time it rains and that water can last up to 5 months. Some other plants that adapt to the excessive heat and little water are: the Barrel Cactus, Brittle Bush, Chainfruit Cholla, Cresote Bush, Desert Ironwood, and more cacti such as cacti-Yucco, Saguro, Octillo, and Prickly Pear.
Desert Soil
Desert soil is usual constructed of a course sand with pebbles or rocks mixed in. Desert soil is also very nutrient and mineral rich. If combined with water, the soil would be good for growing. Plants are very important to the soil though. The soil found in deserts is usually very loose and plant roots hold the soil, and prevent it from eroding. This is explained in the video, when he takes a step and he breaks the surface of the ground making the soil easier to be eroded.
